Liverpool recorded a statement 4-0 UEFA Champions League win against Bayer Leverkusen to continue their stunning start under Arne Slot.
The Reds have now won 14 out of 16 matches under the Dutchman and currently top their Premier League and Champions League groups, which is no mean feat.
Xabi Alonso’s return to Anfield ended on a sour note, but he wasn’t the only former Liverpool player who returned to a familiar hunting ground.
Thiago Alcantara was in attendance at Anfield today and Liverpool fans will absolutely love what he did after the game.
Thiago Alcantara meets Ibrahima Konate and Xabi Alonso after statement Liverpool win

The Spaniard left Liverpool on a free transfer after an injury-plagued 2023-24 campaign and announced his retirement shortly afterward, bringing a decorated career to a close.
Thiago played alongside Alonso at Bayern Munich and has fond memories with the Spaniard, with both midfield maestros having played for Liverpool as well.
After the game, Thiago was spotted in the Anfield tunnel shouting Ibrahima Konate’s name as he met his former teammate and also shared a warm embrace with Alonso, as seen below in the video.
What is Thiago Alcantara up to after his retirement?
The Spaniard worked as a coach under new Barcelona manager Hansi Flick, with who he won the UEFA Champions League at Bayern Munich during the 2019-20 season shortly before his move to Liverpool.
However, he left after just a month and was replaced by Arnau Blanco, who remains a part of Flick’s coaching staff.
Thiago’s playing career may have finished, but judging by what he did immediately after his retirement, he might be planning for a career on the touchline.
And if that were to be the case, the Spaniard would hope to follow a similar trajectory to that of Alonso, who quickly rose through the ranks after finishing his coaching badges to land the job at Bayer Leverkusen.
