Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp are arguably two of the most important figures in Liverpool’s recent history.

The pair worked together at Anfield from 2017 to 2024 before the German’s rather unexpected departure and won seven major trophies together including the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.

Towards the end of last season, Salah and Klopp were involved in a touchline spat which prompted claims that their relationship wasn’t on the best of terms.

And now, if reports are to be believed, Salah’s actual thoughts on Klopp have emerged and it may not go down well with the Anfield faithful…

Salah was Liverpool’s top scorer across all competitions in each of his seven seasons under Klopp as he cemented his status not just as a club legend but also as one of the greatest attackers of his generation.

The Egyptian arrived at Anfield in the summer of 2017 from Roma and hasn’t looked back since scoring 32 Premier League goals in his first season at the club.

Salah was ripping it up in Serie A and took his game to another level under Klopp, so it was a natural assumption to make that the German would be the most influential coach of his career.

However, a report from Daily Mail claims the Egyptian privately told his friends that Luciano Spalletti, who he worked with at Roma, was the best coach he ever worked with.

Salah is believed to have learned the defensive side of the game from the Italian and put it into practice much earlier than he joined Liverpool, with the report also claiming that his teammates at Anfield deserve more credit than Klopp for his goalscoring exploits.

Salah’s record under Klopp

Regardless of what he may feel about the former Liverpool boss, Salah enjoyed the best days of his career under Klopp and broke several records on his way to achieving legendary status at Anfield.

However, with his contract set to run out next summer, the Reds are sweating over his future and run the risk of losing him for free in 2025.
