Liverpool continued their fantastic adventure under Arne Slot with a battling 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Sunday.

Slot has now guided Liverpool to second place in the Premier League table after nine matches, one point behind Man City.

Liverpool may still be short of a striker, but they may be reluctant to make additions in January given the superb start to the season.

Didi Hamann says Liverpool are title favourites, but Slot will make sure that is not a thought in the minds of his players right now.

They produced another professional display on the road in North London, where Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah scored the goals.

Jeff Stelling slams Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister vs Arsenal

But according to Jeff Stelling, it wasn’t all pretty from the away side, with Alexis Mac Allister scrutinised for his apparent gamesmanship antics at the Emirates Stadium.

“I know people are saying Arsenal players went down too easily, stayed down too long, and it’s certainly an accusation you can level at them,” Stelling said on talkSPORT.

“But I would say too, first half, Alexis Mac Allister went down, rolled around for a long time in the hope that the game was going to be stopped, there was absolutely nothing wrong with him.

“It just happens. And please don’t come back and have a go if you’re a Liverpool fan or an Arsenal fan, because every team does it.”

Mac Allister won’t be paying much attention at all to any post-match comments regarding his behaviour, particularly given that it was a clash involving plenty of drama.

But Slot can be very satisfied with leaving the Emirates Stadium with a point, in what was perhaps his toughest test yet as Liverpool manager.

Mac Allister joined Liverpool for £55million from Brighton last summer, and has quickly established himself as a key player at the club.

The Argentine is a real hit among the Anfield faithful, and is set to be a crucial player for Slot in the months to come.

He has formed a superb relationship with fellow midfielders Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai, with all three enjoying superb starts to life under the new boss.
