Liverpool are basking in the glory of another big result after beating RB Leipzig on Wednesday.
The Reds have been about as close to perfect as you can get so far this season, winning 11 out of 12 games and conceding just five times.
In simple terms, Arne Slot could not have asked for more from his first dozen games as Liverpool head coach.
One thing that Slot may have wished for, however, is to have had his starting goalkeeper available more often.
After Alisson Becker picked up two separate injuries, Caoimhin Kelleher has now played exactly one third of Liverpool matches this term.
Thankfully, Kelleher is an ‘outstanding’ goalkeeper himself. And after the 25-year-old excelled once again in Leipzig, praise continues to come his way.

Jason Cundy praises ‘top drawer’ Caoimhin Kelleher
Had things gone only slightly differently, Kelleher could have left Liverpool last summer. The Irishman was certainly keen to get more regular football.
Nottingham Forest made a derisory offer to buy Kelleher on transfer deadline day and thank goodness the Reds resisted that.
Although Liverpool’s signing of Giorgi Mamardashvili makes it seem inevitable that Kelleher will leave next summer, Slot still badly needs him for now.
Wednesday night in Leipzig only served to confirm that and speaking to TalkSPORT once the game had finished, pundit Jason Cundy raved about Kelleher’s ability to fit seamlessly into the Liverpool XI.

“Whenever I see Kelleher play, he looks top drawer,” praised Cundy. “Liverpool don’t look weaker.
“Sometimes when you see a number two goalkeeper come in, you might see the defence drop a bit deeper or they’re a bit hesitant with their back passes – not a bit of it.
“He’s played a lot in the last 18 months, two years, both in the Carabao Cup, Champions League but he never looks out of place,” added the former Chelsea man. “Liverpool don’t look any weaker with him in goal and that’s a massive compliment by the way, huge.”
What does the future hold for Caoimhin Kelleher?
Kelleher has spoken publicly about his disappointment at not leaving Liverpool ahead of this season. The Ireland international deserves number one status.
His contract is running out in 2026, meaning that Liverpool are now unlikely to get full value for Kelleher if they do sell him next year.
Mamardashvili’s impending arrival adds another layer to things and coupled with the contract situation make it inevitable that this will be Kelleher’s last season at Anfield.
While that is obviously a huge shame, it will be brilliant to see the Liverpool academy graduate spread his wings and finally become a starting goalkeeper.
Wherever he ends up they’ll be lucky to have Kelleher.
