Liverpool maintained their winning streak with a professional 1-0 win in the UEFA Champions League against RB Leipzig.
Darwin Nunez’s close-range header was all it took for the Reds to confirm all three points at the Red Bull Arena as Liverpool shot up to second place in the Champions League league standings, only sat behind Aston Villa on goal difference.
With Cody Gakpo praised for his display against Leipzig, it was a fine attacking performance from Liverpool, with Nunez the star of the show for the Reds as Mohamed Salah also impressed for the Anfield side.
And Pat Nevin lauded the Egyptian winger for one moment against Leipzig.

Salah praised after ‘perfect’ Liverpool assist for Nunez vs Leipzig
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, the former Everton winger noted how ‘perfect’ Salah’s assist was for Nunez, with the Liverpool forward picking out his attacking teammate at the back post with a well-placed header.
Nevin said: “That goal being chalked off is what lifted Liverpool. This move is the best move of the game. Mo Salah has done the perfect thing, he is aiming for the back post and I do think it’s a pass with his head. If Nunez hadn’t of got there it would have probably gone in.”

With Salah coming off early for Liverpool, Arne Slot is clearly trying to keep his star attacker as fresh as possible heading into Sunday’s huge Premier League tie against title rivals Arsenal, who also won in the Champions League this week.
And with Salah winning praise from Nevin, the Liverpool winger is looking in good form heading into this weekend’s clash at the Emirates Stadium, where the 32-year-old forward could be key in the Reds picking up a big three points.

Salah will be key in Liverpool’s quest for more European glory
Having already won the Champions League once with Liverpool, Salah will be intent on winning Europe’s biggest prize once again for the Reds under Slot, who has been exceptional since taking over the hot seat at Anfield this season.
And with this year likely to be Salah’s last for Liverpool, the forward knows he will be key in the Anfield side’s quest to win the Champions League for a seventh-time in their history, a feat no British side has ever achieved.
Indeed, Salah’s form has been as good as it has ever been for Liverpool, and Slot will want his star forward to maintain his quality in the coming months in the Dutch coach’s quest to win as much silverware as possible.
