Liverpool had several young players burst onto the scene last season as Jurgen Klopp bid farewell to the club after nearly nine years.
Due to mounting injury concerns towards the end of the 2023-24 campaign, a lot of the young Reds featured in the Carabao Cup final as they got their hands on the trophy over Chelsea.
Bobby Clark, who featured in that game, has moved on to RB Salzburg to reunite with Pep Lijnders, while Jayden Danns is currently on the sidelines due to a back injury.
A handful of other youngsters like Stefan Bajcetic, Ben Doak and Calvin Ramsay have sealed loan moves to get regular game time, but it is another Liverpool youngster who is making a massive impression in the Championship…
Liverpool loanee Lewis Koumas scores screamer for Stoke City

Lewis Koumas made his Liverpool debut in the FA Cup against Southampton last season and got his name on the scoresheet as the Reds won 3-0, while he already has four senior Wales caps to his name under new manager Craig Bellamy.
The 19-year-old seems to be enjoying his time with Stoke City in the Championship with three goals and two assists in 12 appearances across all competitions, recently scoring and assisting against Briston City.
Koumas broke the deadlock with a stunning acrobatic effort and teed one up for Andrew Moran moments later, although the Potters were held to a 2-2 draw at home.
Liverpool fans took to X to praise the Welshman as he continues to make a name for himself as an exciting talent.
One fan wrote “Goodness me what a finisher Koumas is,” while another one said, “Lewis Koumas is an exceptional talent.”
One fan singled out the Liverpool academy for special praise as he wrote: “La AXA creating Koumas and Danns. We’re set.”
And finally, one fan opined that Koumas is quietly having a fantastic loan spell for Stoke City as he racked up two more goal contributions in the Championship.
Klopp hailed Koumas as a ‘special’ talent before his debut last season and the 19-year-old is showing exactly why he was held in such high regard by the German.
Koumas’ stats vs Bristol City
Koumas set up a goal and an assist and was substituted with nearly 20 minutes left on the clock. His underlying numbers from the game make for impressive reading.
