Liverpool fans have been keeping a close eye on the movements of Jurgen Klopp ever since he left the club over the summer.
Klopp ensured that he will always be associated with the Reds after a stunning near nine-year spell in charge on Merseyside.
Since the German left at the end of last season he has been missed every day by Liverpool supporters.
While Arne Slot’s superb start to life as Liverpool head coach has certainly helped to soften the blow, it still hurts that Jurgen is no longer in charge.
Klopp has felt no such sadness, though. Since his exit the boss has seemingly been enjoying his ‘retirement’ to the fullest. And while there were links to jobs such as the USA national team, it felt like the 57-year-old was ready to wait for the right opportunity.
On Wednesday, almost five months on from his last goodbye at Anfield, the job Klopp had been waiting for was finally revealed. And it seems that the Liverpool legend already has his next move lined up, too.

Jurgen Klopp signs with Red Bull
It remains to be seen when Klopp will fulfil his promise of coming to watch a Liverpool game on the Kop.
The legendary manager has been a busy bee since May and it was perhaps unwise for him to show up while Slot was still learning the ropes anyway.
But after an update from German journalist Florian Plettenberg on Wednesday, the clock is now ticking on Klopp’s free time.
Taking to X, Plettenberg reports that Klopp is set to join as Red Bull’s ‘Global Head of Soccer,’ overseeing goings on at Salzburg, Leipzig and the other Red Bull clubs.

“Jurgen Klopp will become the new “Global Head of Soccer“ at Red Bull,” reports the journalist. “Starting on January 1, 2025. Klopp has already signed a long-term contract.”
Interestingly, Plettenberg also claims that Jurgen has inserted an option into his contract which would allow him to leave and become the new German national team coach in the future.
“Additionally, Klopp has secured an exit option allowing him to become the head coach of the Germany national team in the future,” he says. “As a potential successor to Julian Nagelsmann.
“From January, Klopp will advise all Red Bull teams (Leipzig, Salzburg, New York, etc.) on coaching matters, playing philosophy, development and transfers of talents/head coaches and more. Oliver Mintzlaff was determined to get Klopp.”
What could Jurgen Klopp’s new job mean for Liverpool?
This is a really fascinating move from Klopp and one which could have ramifications for Liverpool.
Klopp was always vocal in his appreciation of the way things are done at the Red Bull clubs while with the Reds and regularly signed players who had come through the system.
Now, with the shoe on the other foot, it will be mightily interesting to see whether Liverpool do further business with the likes of Salzburg and Leipzig.
In the shorter term, it will obviously mean a reunion of sorts for Klopp and Pep Lijnders. With Lijnders taking Stefan Bajcetic on-loan at Salzburg, Jurgen will also be working loosely with a player who he was such a fan of at Liverpool.
For however long he stays at Red Bull, though, it’s clear that Klopp will also take over the German national side at some point. And what this all likely means as well is that Liverpool were the iconic manager’s last club side of his career. Best of luck, Jurgen!
