Alexis Mac Allister tells Ibrahima Konate he needs to learn from ‘serious’ Liverpool player’s fashion sense

Liverpool players have been jetting off all over the world these past days as they link up with their national teams.

After a terrific start to the season, Reds supporters will be hoping and praying that their team come back without any new injuries from the latest pause in play.

With Alisson Becker set to be sidelined for a little while after an injury at the weekend, Liverpool cannot afford to lose any more key men over the international break.

One player who will perhaps be watched more closely than any other is Alexis Mac Allister. Mac Allister picked up a knock against Crystal Palace and had to be substituted at half-time.

Nevertheless, the 25-year-old has travelled to join up with Argentina and it has been claimed that Mac Allister will be assessed upon his arrival with his national team.

In the meantime, Liverpool’s No.10 has been handing out some fashion tips after seeing Ibrahima Konate make headlines with a quite bizarre outfit while away with France.

Alexis Mac Allister unimpressed with Ibrahima Konate outfit

Arrivals at Clairefontaine for the France national team have become something of a fashion show over recent years.

For whatever reason, Les Bleus players – led by Barcelona’s Joules Kounde in particular – have developed a habit of wearing outlandish outfits as they report for duty.

As a man who seemingly enjoys to make a statement with his fashion, Konate has quickly become embroiled in this trend.

And the Liverpool defender’s most recent get-up is perhaps his boldest choice yet. Pictured stepping out into the rain at Clairefontaine on Monday, Konate sported a bizarre lime green sweatshirt which zipped up fully over his head. Needless to say, the 25-year-old caused a stir.

But Konate and France are not the only ones guilty of treating call-ups to the national team as an excuse for a fashion show.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk posted a shot on Instagram of his own arrival with the Netherlands, dressed in a black leather jacket, black sunglasses and a plain white t-shirt.

From Mac Allister’s point of view, this was a look much more in-keeping with what a Liverpool centre-back should be wearing away from the pitch.

“Serious guy, learn from the captain,” wrote the Argentine, tagging Konate into his comment. “waw Alexis van Dijk!” came the Frenchman’s reply. “Good son.”

“Love you too Ibou,” Mac Allister concluded.

Latest on Ibrahima Konate’s contract extension

Happily, his fashion sense was not the only reason Konate was in the news during the early part of this week.

After Rousing The Kop exclusively revealed that Konate is set to be offered a new deal, it has now been confirmed that the No.5 has begun talks with Liverpool.

Konate is said to be happy at Anfield and it seems unlikely that there will be any complications at all.

From there, the hope will be that Van Dijk also sticks around to give fashion tips to his centre-back partner for some years to come yet.

If Virgil does not sign, Ibou will become the main man in defence for Liverpool. Without his captain’s restraint as an example, perhaps his fashion choices will become even more off the wall. We can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.
