Liverpool are gearing up for their first Champions League game for more than 18 months on Tuesday.
The Reds have a long and famous history in Europe’s premier competition, but had to settle for a spot in the Europa League last season.
But as a result of Jurgen Klopp’s side finishing third in the Premier League, Liverpool are back at the top table this time around.
For head coach Arne Slot, it represents a Champions League debut with Liverpool and as far as tests go, they don’t come too much trickier than a trip to San Siro.
And with the Reds preparing to face AC Milan, sporting director Richard Hughes has been spotted back in the city where he grew up.

Hughes did not end up getting much done during his first summer at Liverpool.
Despite the Liverpool squad looking in need of some attention, the sporting director only ended up adding Federico Chiesa, as well as sorting an ahead-of-time move for Giorgi Mamardashvili.
With contracts yet to be sorted for Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah, many Liverpool fans were left unsatisfied by their summer of business.
Nevertheless, Hughes has earned praise from rival directors for the way he has handled things at Anfield.

Another who arrived at Liverpool this summer was Pedro Marques, who joined as part of FSG’s push to secure a second football club.
And with the Reds in Italy on Tuesday, journalist Lewis Steele spotted both Hughes and Marques attending the Liverpool academy’s UEFA Youth League game against AC Milan.
“Richard Hughes in attendance with Pedro Marques,” wrote Steele, as he watched the Liverpool youngsters take on their Milan counterparts.
Who is playing for Liverpool vs AC Milan?
After a season away, Liverpool’s young guns will be hoping they can make an impact in the Youth League this year.
The Reds have plenty of firepower currently in their academy and there are very high hopes for a number of the teenagers coming through.
Perhaps the brightest spark is new arrival Rio Ngumoha. Liverpool staff are said to be excited about Ngumoha after his summer transfer from Chelsea.
However, they may have to wait slightly longer before getting a glimpse of the 16-year-old’s talents. Ngumoha started from the bench in Tuesday’s game.
Fellow new boy Alvin Ayman also began as a substitute, with the likes of Trent Kone-Doherty, Trey Nyoni, Wellity Lucky and Kieran Morrison just some of those to keep an eye on instead.
