Liverpool suffered defeat for the first time this season after a shock 1-0 loss against Nottingham Forest, and things aren’t going to get easier for the Reds.

The Merseyside giants travel to Italy on Tuesday where they will face European titans AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League opener, with the Rossoneri heading into the tie with a 4-0 win this weekend against Venezia.

With Paulo Fonseca confident about Milan’s quality ahead of facing Liverpool, the Reds could be in for a difficult night at the San Siro if Arne Slot’s side are unable to shake off the rust gathered from this weekend’s historic defeat against Forest.

And Milan star Christian Pulisic has now shared how he’s feeling ahead of facing Liverpool.

Pulisic confident AC Milan can give Liverpool a good game

Speaking to the press after Saturday’s win against Venezia, Pulisic shared how he and Milan are confident about facing Liverpool, with the former Chelsea winger in fine form this season with the Rossoneri.

Pulisic scored and assisted this weekend for Milan with the USA international eager to face off against Liverpool once more having impressed against the Reds during his time with Chelsea.

Indeed, Liverpool face arguably their biggest test of the season so far in Milan on Tuesday night, and Pulisic seems confident that the Italian giants can get something against the Reds based on what’s happened this weekend.

Pulisic said: “It’s our first Champions League game of the year against a big club, of course, it’s a big challenge. But playing in our home stadium, hopefully, we have some confidence from this game. We have to come up with a good performance if we want a result.”

Liverpool need to respond against Milan after Forest collapse

Few Liverpool fans would have predicted the Reds to fall to Forest on Saturday, yet with Milan coming up next for Slot’s side, they now have the perfect team to respond against.

Milan are one of the biggest and best teams in all of Europe, who this weekend just enjoyed their best result this season with Pulisic in top form and Fonseca now starting to get to grips with his new side.

Yet for Liverpool, they need to show the world what they’re capable of having suffered a shock loss, and beating Milan at the San Siro would do just that for the Reds.
