Liverpool’s summer transfer window might already be over, yet that doesn’t mean work is being done behind the scenes for future moves.
This summer saw the Reds make two new additions in Giorgi Mamardashvili and Federico Chiesa, with the Italian international pushing to make his Liverpool debut this weekend against Nottingham Forest.
With Arne Slot choosing a quiet approach for his first window in charge of Liverpool, some big moves could be in the pipeline from the Dutch coach with the Reds expected to lose a key player or two in 2025.
And Liverpool have seemingly increased their interest in signing one superstar name.

Liverpool keeping a close eye on Jamal Musiala’s Bayern Munich future
According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool are keeping tabs on Jamal Musiala’s contract situation at Bayern Munich, with the Germany international yet to sign a new deal with the Bundesliga giants amid interest from the Reds.
Noted by Goal as a ‘generational’ talent, Musiala was one of the best players at this summer’s Euros as the 21-year-old attacking midfielder stole the show for the host nation, even with Julian Nagelsmann’s side crashing at the quarter-final stage.
As per the report, though, Liverpool would need to pay as much as €180m (£152m) if they’re to sign Musiala as Bayern remain intent on keeping hold of their prized asset for as long as possible, with contract talks ongoing.
Indeed, Musiala heading to the Premier League feels like a move that could well happen in the coming years if the playmaker feels like he needs a new challenge away from Bayern, and Liverpool will need to pounce for that moment.

Liverpool need to lay the groundwork to sign Musiala
Musiala is one of the best young players on the planet and a talent who has the potential to become a true great in the game if he can continue to live up to his astonishing potential.
And for Liverpool, the Reds need to start putting in the groundwork now to sign Musiala in 2025 or beyond, with the Germany international simply too good a player for the Anfield side to pass up on at this stage.
A creative master in the attack like Musiala could be what Liverpool need once the likes of Mohamed Salah have left the club, and the Germany international could be sold on a move to one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs if the work to bring him in starts now.
