Liverpool are one of the biggest football clubs in the world, which is why this summer was such a strange one for the Reds.
The Merseyside giants made just two senior signings under new manager Arne Slot, with Federico Chiesa the only one to actually join Liverpool this summer, with Giorgi Mamardashvili set to move to Anfield in 2025.
One player who was linked with a move to Liverpool was Ajax defender Jorrel Hato, with the 18-year-old Dutch international already regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in all of Europe after a breakout season last year.
And there’s now a chance that Liverpool could sign Hato in 2025.

Ajax predicting Liverpool target Jorrel Hato to leave next summer
According to the Athletic, Ajax’s leadership believe there’s a good chance that Hato will leave the Amsterdam-based club next year, with the report stating that Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Arsenal are one of the teams tracking the teenager.
Hailed by former Anfield captain Jordan Henderson as a ‘fantastic’ player via Ajax’s official website, Hato is rightly viewed as part of the next generation of incredible defenders who could dominate Europe for years to come.
And with Ajax now seemingly planning for life without Hato next year, there’s a good chance that Liverpool could make a move to bring in the Dutch wonderkid, who could be keen to join the Reds in 2025.
Indeed, Netherlands captain Virgil van Dijk is one of the most prominent figures in Dutch football, and with Slot at the helm with fellow Ajax academy graduate Ryan Gravenberch also thriving with Liverpool, Anfield makes a lot of sense as a next destination for Hato.

Hato needs to become Liverpool’s main target for 2025
Central defence was a position Liverpool failed to strengthen in this summer, with the Reds one major injury away from another major crisis in the area this season.
And heading into 2025, Hato could become Liverpool’s main transfer target, with the Ajax wonderkid having everything the Reds are lacking in a central defender for the future.
At 18-years-old, Hato is a talent who could become one of the best centre-backs in the world if his development continues at its current pace, and the Ajax star could jump at the chance to move to Merseyside to play under Slot and to learn from Van Dijk.
