Liverpool attacker Federico Chiesa watched on from the stands as his new club defeated Manchester United 3-0.
Chiesa has thanked Liverpool fans after joining the Reds from Juventus late in the summer transfer window.
Arne Slot welcomed Chiesa to Liverpool in person following the move, but the forward was not ready to make his debut against Man United.
The Italian did, however, get a good glimpse of his new side as he watched the victory from inside Old Trafford.
His fellow wingers Luis Diaz (two) and Mohamed Salah scored the goals to help Liverpool ease past their fierce rivals.

The latter is, however, potentially playing his final season at Liverpool, with Salah’s contract set to expire next summer.

But Anfield icon Jamie Carragher doesn’t think that will be the case, with the former defender saying on The Gary Neville Podcast: “I actually think if Chiesa plays, starts 15 games this season, and Mo Salah is playing a season of 35 to 40, I think Mo Salah what we saw today can still play for another two or three years for Liverpool, if he doesn’t have to play every single minute or every single game.
“I think the arrival of Chiesa, I think is very important in terms of Salah as well. I still think there is a lot of miles in him.”

Many Liverpool fans are perhaps still in some form of shock that Chiesa was brought to Anfield in the transfer window.
Slot isn’t exactly light in the attacking department, with Jurgen Klopp having left him a long list of talented forwards.

At the same time, however, such a strong group is needed if the Reds are to successfully challenge on all fronts this season.
Keeping all the attackers happy may be tricky, but they must be aware that it is a long season, where injuries and fatigue will soon take their toll.
The signature of Chiesa should, therefore, be warmly welcomed, with the Italian set to compete for minutes with Salah, Diaz, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez.
Most Liverpool fans will, however, still have one eye on next summer, with many desperate to see Salah extend his time at Anfield.
