Liverpool supporters are still waiting to see the first signing of the Arne Slot era.
It has now been two weeks since Reds fans were treated to their first glimpses of Slot getting to work on Merseyside.
However, although there has been much transfer talk in between, there has yet to be any new additions to the Liverpool squad.
With the ongoing summer international tournaments, that is easy to explain away. Besides, there are one or two potential Liverpool targets who are only enhancing their reputations out in Germany and the USA.
As the dust starts to settle on the first part of Euro 2024, one of those linked with a move to Anfield has now spoken out.

David Hancko opens up on Liverpool links
Most fans would agree that what Liverpool need more than anything this summer is a shiny new centre-back. Ideally, perhaps, a left-footed one.
With that in mind, supporters have been getting excited over links to Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori.
Calafiori is not the only left-sided centre-back to have been earning plenty of applause in Germany, though. Like the Italian, David Hancko had a superb tournament with Slovakia.
Seconds away from upsetting England and making the quarter-finals, Slovakia are unfortunate to now be heading home.
For Hancko, it looks likely to be a busy few weeks. After an excellent period at Feyenoord under Slot, Hancko looks set for a move. There have been rumours that it could be to Liverpool.

But speaking to Dutch outlet Voetbal International, the 26-year-old has now admitted that it looks unlikely that he’ll be ending up reunited with Slot after all, despite his great admiration for his former boss.
“I think in three years he will be named as one of the best coaches in the world,” Hancko raved about Slot. “I see that happening, because I know what he’s done with us and now he has the biggest platform to show that. I have a lot of confidence in him and his staff.
“And I don’t express that appreciation because I hope I go with him to Liverpool, because that chance is small,” adds the Slovakian.
“I spoke to him a couple of times after the season, but I don’t think they’re looking for a player in my position, so I don’t think a transfer to Liverpool will happen, but I wish him the best of luck, he’s a fantastic coach.”
David Hancko admission should ring alarm bells for Liverpool
There were plenty of reasons why Hancko would have been a good addition for Liverpool.
Aside from the obvious benefit of him having worked with Slot in the past, Hancko is also reportedly available for less than £30m. That’s a bargain.
Having said that, the former Sparta Prague defender looks slightly on the older side of what Liverpool usually target. A move always seemed a little unlikely.
Despite that, Reds fans may be slightly alarmed to hear the reasoning behind Hancko’s move being off.
The big defender claims that Liverpool are not looking for a player in his position. In actuality, that’s exactly the one thing the Reds absolutely should be targeting this summer.
As a result, Hancko’s admission may well generate some anxiety within the fanbase. Hopefully he’s ultimately proven wrong.
