The stats prove Jurgen Klopp’s reality after his claims following Manchester United’s draw with Liverpool.
Make no mistakes about it, Liverpool only have themselves to blame for what happened against Manchester United today.
The Reds had to be ruthless in front of goal, and simply put they were not. Jurgen Klopp’s side squandered far too many opportunities, and will only have themselves to blame.
But the Premier League title is still definitely there to be won for Liverpool. Klopp’s side are on 71 points, level with Arsenal with seven games to be played. Seven games where there are going to be plenty of twists and turns yet.
The Reds are definitely not out of the race, and they definitely cannot be disappointed with what they have achieved so far this season.
It has already been a memorable campaign where Liverpool have bounced back the depths of darkness from last season.

Jurgen Klopp has made Liverpool reality clear
Speaking after the game, it was obvious Jurgen Klopp was disappointed by the result. As was every Liverpool supporter.
The truth is Liverpool dominated Manchester United and deserved more.
“In all the time I’ve been here we never dominated United like we did in these two games but we didn’t win them,” Klopp told journalists in his post-match press conference as per James Peace.
But it’s not just Klopp’s opinion. The stats reflect Liverpool’s domination as well. In the two games against Manchester United this season, Liverpool have recorded a combined shot total of 62.
That is a Premier League record, according to Opta.
Jurgen Klopp on his honest thoughts about the Premier League title race
When you look at those stats, it’s easy to say things just weren’t in Liverpool’s favour. Sometimes, you have those days.
Footballers are fallible human beings. They are not immune to errors, and today was just one of those days.
But as always, Klopp prefers to keep his glass half full, and was upbeat and optimistic speaking after the game as well.
“The whole Liverpool community just stay calm,” Klopp told the BBC. We are where we are and we keep giving it a proper go. Do I wish we had 10 points difference? Of course.”
“We take what we got and keep going.”
Liverpool fans should adopt that attitude as well. The title race definitely isn’t over yet, and today will not define the rest of Liverpool’s campaign.
