Liverpool vs Manchester City definitely brought all the entertainment once again. It was a relentless game full of energy and excitement. Both sides taking each other on by the scruff of the neck.
Manchester City may have controlled the game slightly better in the first-half. But in the second-half, it was Liverpool domination. That saw the Reds equalise very early on in the game thanks to a penalty won by Darwin Nunez, which was converted by Alexis Mac Allister.
But in the end, all the talk will be about the penalty that wasn’t given. Mac Allister was again at the centre of the controversy. After a set-piece from Liverpool, the Argentine seemed to get to the ball first before Jeremy Doku raised his boot high in the air and collided with his chest. Mac Allister went tumbling down to the ground. However, first the referee, then VAR decided that Doku’s actions did not warrant a penalty – much to the surprise of the wide footballing world.

Diogo Jota’s wordless response on social media
Taking to Twitter after the game, Diogo Jota shared a wordless response after the Liverpool vs Manchester City game. He shared a post with just laughing emojis on the social media website.
What that means, you can be the judge. Whether it’s a response to the refereeing decision made on the pitch is moot.
One thing is clear though. Liverpool really missed the Portuguese attacker on the pitch. Jota gives Liverpool the kind of clinical edge that they missed in the game today. Hopefully, he will be back sooner rather than later.
