It was a good night for Liverpool. The Reds got a very comfortable victory over Sparta Prague. The kind of victory which means Jurgen Klopp’s side won’t have to overexert themselves in the return leg at Anfield next week.
It was also the kind of victory that gives Liverpool a much-needed boost ahead of Manchester City at the weekend. With Darwin Nunez scoring twice, Alexis Mac Allister excelling and Dominik Szoboszlai also getting himself on the score-sheet.
Not to mention Mohamed Salah was unfortunate to have his goal disallowed later on in the game. But nonetheless it was great to see him back on the pitch as well.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Caoimhin Kelleher was very impressed by one 24-year-old Liverpool player in particular.

Caoimhin Kelleher on Darwin Nunez
Although the game was a massive drubbing, this wasn’t as comfortable of a night for Caoimhin Kelleher as the score-line would suggest. The Liverpool goalkeeper had to make a handful of important saves to keep Sparta Prague at bay, and make this ultimately a very comfortable evening for Liverpool.
Speaking after the game to reporters, Kelleher was full of praise for Darwin Nunez as well. The Republic of Irishman revealed he was delighted to have the Reds’ goal-scoring machine back in the team.
“I think he’s been pretty good this season. Obviously, I think his finishing is top class, his two goals tonight were superb. He is a massive player for us. So it’s nice to see him back and scoring goals,” Kelleher said.
Nunez was outstanding on the night. It’s difficult to decide which one of his goals was better for Liverpool. The long-range strike was an incredible one to pull off. But the second goal, for the volley, the technique to execute that was also brilliant.
Kelleher is one hundred percent right. Nunez is a massive player for Liverpool. It’s great to have him back in the team as well. And in great form. Just in time for Manchester City at the weekend.
