It’s nervous times around Liverpool at the moment. Everything feels like is riding on the game against Manchester City at the weekend. Liverpool desperately need three points in that game to get an advantage over Pep Guardiola’s side.
If Liverpool beat City, it will mean the Reds will have a four point advantage over their rivals. It will also mean Liverpool maintain their lead above Arsenal as well, who will then have to travel to face Guardiola’s team.
The Reds will desperately want to win the league. It’s still early days to call this a Premier League title decider. But there is no doubt that whoever wins the encounter will have a significant advantage in the run in from now until the end of the season.
By winning against City, and Guardiola’s subsequent game against Arsenal going in the Reds favour, it could even mean Liverpool will be able to afford at least one slip-up during the final few games. That could be very important in easing the pressure off of Klopp’s and his players’ shoulders.

Jamie Carragher explains what he will do if Liverpool beat City
Speaking ahead of the game, Jamie Carragher was on CBS’s Sports Golazo programme and he jokingly revealed he would wear a rather outlandish suit if Liverpool did beat Manchester City.
The suit in question is a Tom Brown suit from the new season collection. CBS even produced a graphic of what Carragher would look like wearing the shirt. To which Carragher replied.
“You know what if we beat Man City, buy me that and I will wear it,” Carragher said.
“Really?” Micah Richards replied, sitting next to him.
But Carragher didn’t change his tune. He even shook hands with Richards to make good on his promise. That means we could be in line for quite an entertaining CBS broadcast after Sunday if Liverpool do get the job done.
