Even though Liverpool are flying high at the moment it feels like Arsenal and Manchester City are still considered the favourites for the Premier League title. Jurgen Klopp’s men meanwhile have been overlooked.
We get everything is riding on the weekend’s result against Manchester City. But there is no denying that Liverpool’s players have been different class. The fact that they are being overlooked for individual performances by some of Arsenal’s and Manchester City’s stars is a bit unfair.
Especially when you have players like Mohamed Salah, who have been nothing but world-class all season and still very much dominates the individual charts.

Ally McCoist on Mohamed Salah
In a conversation on talkSPORT, Ally McCoist and Jeff Stelling had a go at picking the best XI from the three Premier League title challengers in Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool. Incredibly, Stelling didn’t include Mohamed Salah on his list. That is however, something that McCoist disagreed with.
“It’s tough isn’t it? We’re talking about Saka being one of the players of the year and quite possibly, not wanting to give the team way yet, won’t start,” McCoist said.
“I’d have Saka in the side. I just think he’s such an exhilarating young talent. I’d have three Arsenal players in mine, Saliba, Rice and Saka. It’s going to cost you somebody and I think that somebody might be Mohamed Salah,” Stelling replied.
McCoist however disagreed with that decision and said: “Ooooh, what do you think? You can’t leave Salah out!”
McCoist added: “How you possibly aren’t playing Salah is remarkable! I’m playing Salah on the right, Haaland through the middle and Foden, in current form, he might be the best player in the country”
We have to agree with McCoist as brilliant as Saka has been. Right now Mohamed Salah is still the better player. There are no questions about that. The Egyptian is indispensable to this Liverpool team. He is also one of the best players in the world. You simply cannot leave him out of any XIs right now.
On current form, there is a case to be made for Salah being one if not the best player in the world. Especially, with his main rivals Lionel Messi playing in the MLS and Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.
