Liverpool scouts are reportedly set to attend Sporting Lisbon – Benfica tonight, with rumoured Reds target Ousmane Diomande expected to play.

The Ivory Coast international is regarded as one of the most highly-rated youngsters in all of Europe, with Liverpool one of the many Premier League clubs chasing Diomande heading into the summer.

Reportedly valued as highly as £70m, Sporting are aware of the talent they have on their hands, with Diomande expected to attract a lot of interest in the summer if the centre-back continues to perform.

And according to SportLens, Liverpool officials will be in attendance tonight for Sporting’s clash against Benfica, where Diomande could feature for the home side in the Derby de Lisboa.

As per the report, though, scouts from all across the Premier League are due to be in the stands this evening, with a number of high-profile players on show in Portugal tonight.

Yet for Liverpool, all eyes could be on Diomande, with the Reds eager to sign a young centre-back in the summer with Joel Matip expected to leave once his contract expires.

Indeed, the Ivory Coast international could be a great signing for Liverpool, and Diomande will want to put on a show tonight with the news that the Reds will be watching in the stands this evening.

Having rebuilt the midfielder last year, this summer will be all about transforming the defence for Liverpool, with new signings needed in almost every positon.

With the aforementioned Matip due to leave, a quality addition will be required if Liverpool are to solidify their backline as well as put on a real challenge for the UEFA Champions League, should they return.
