Jamie Carragher has hailed Liverpool striker Jayden Danns after a two-goal cameo against Southampton on Wednesday.
Jurgen Klopp had to get his Liverpool side back up for another big game on Wednesday with the FA Cup becoming the full focus.
Sunday’s Carabao Cup final win had to be put to one side, but we are again speaking about Liverpool’s top young players.
Teenager Lewis Koumas opened the scoring in the first half, firing a low drive into the bottom corner of the net.
On came Jayden Danns in the second half and he stole the show, dinking in a beautiful goal to make it 2-0.
Danns then grabbed his second and Liverpool’s third from close range, sending the Reds through to face Manchester United in the quarter-finals.
Jamie Carragher hails Jayden Danns
Danns has probably made a lot of people feel very, very old.
His father Neil was a regular throughout the EFL in his playing career and was still playing in League Two just four years ago.
Here comes Jayden though, gaining momentum after coming off the bench to feature against Chelsea on Sunday.

Danns worked hard in that appearance and has now backed it up with two goals against Southampton.
A clearly emotional Danns spoke to ITV on the pitch after the final whistle, noting that Liverpool was his boyhood club and most of his family were in the stands at Anfield.
Danns impressed not just with his goalscoring ability but also his interview with Jamie Carragher offering praise.
Carragher took to social media to praise Danns for two fine goals, a man of the match award and a great interview, highlighting that he is doing it all at the age of just 18.
Liverpool fans everywhere will be echoing that message with Danns not just impressing as a player, but also as a person.
Danns and his family will be on cloud nine right now and this brace will live long in the memory for the teenager.
