This was a quiet weekend for Ibrahima Konate. The Liverpool centre-back was serving his match suspension from picking up a red card against Arsenal. That meant he was not available to face Burnley on Saturday for the Reds.
It also meant he had a bit of time off on Sunday to do what he wanted. Something that’s a rarity for Liverpool players during the course of the season due to the intensity and the huge number of games.
And in his spare time, Konate decided not to attend a football game on Sunday but to observe a completely different sport instead in basketball in Paris. To accompany him was a former Barcelona star and another one his international teammates.

Ibrahima Konate watching basketball in Paris
Konate attended Paris Saint Germain’s basketball game with former Barcelona attacker, Ousmane Dembele and current PSG forward, Randal Kolo Muani.
The Liverpool defender was spotted by Twitter account @ParisBasketball which shared a vide on the social media network of Konate sitting back and relaxing court side.
It’s good to see the Liverpool defender kicking back and relaxing. Although it’s interesting that he decided to go back to Paris. Konate obviously grew up in the area, and he will know Dembele and Kolo Muani well – both of them are around his own age. Both also play for Paris Saint Germain – so they would have had to travel less to get to the game.
But we wouldn’t read too much into Konate going back to Paris. The city is close to his heart, and he’s simply just hanging out with two friends from the national team.
