Jurgen Klopp spotted doing something brand new to the Anfield crowd after Liverpool’s win over Burnley today

Liverpool bounced back from defeat against Arsenal last week to record a 3-1 win over Burnley this afternoon.

It wasn’t an easy game for the Reds, who benefitted from some brilliant goalkeeping from Caoimhin Kelleher to take the three points.

But despite certain deficiencies in the performance, Jurgen Klopp still cut a happy figure at the end of the match.

As spotted by journalist James Pearce on X, Klopp tried something different out after the full-time whistle. As well as his usual three fist pumps in-front of the Kop, Jurgen turned and gave the same treatment to Anfield Road stand as well as the main stand.

“Klopp mixing it up. Fist pumps to three sides of Anfield,” Pearce wrote. Nice to see the boss happy after what was a below par display for the most part.

You can tell that Jurgen is really trying to drink in every last moment of his time as Liverpool manager. There now aren’t too many of these afternoons at Anfield left for him.

At times today, it didn’t look like the 56-year-old would have the chance to savour a win in front of his fans, either.

For too much of the match Liverpool were second best to Burnley. The Clarets were brave and energetic with the ball and caused the Reds all manner of problems.

Had David Datro Fofana had his shooting boots on, it could well have ended up as a draw, or worse.

With Manchester City beating Everton to go a point above Liverpool before kick-off today, that would have been unacceptable.

Thankfully, the Reds just about did enough to get the three points over the line. Back to the top they go.

For Klopp, he’ll no doubt be well aware of the problems his side were caused today. However, with so many players missing and now just 14 games of the league season left, maybe he’ll overlook it.

Instead, it would perhaps be of more benefit to Liverpool to keep the positive momentum going. There was a cloud surrounding the club after last week’s defeat to Arsenal. It was important that that was banished today, however it was done.

A week of rest now stretches out ahead of the Reds before a tricky looking trip to Brentford next Saturday lunchtime. Enjoy it, Jurgen. Drink it in.
