Things at Liverpool are uncertain. There are no two ways about it. The Reds have been reeling from Jurgen Klopp’s decision to leave the club at the end of the season.

And while on the pitch things have been relatively smooth sailing (barring that Arsenal defeat) off the pitch – there’s a lot of work to be done. Liverpool simply need clarity on what’s next.

It wasn’t just Klopp who announced he was leaving at the end of the season but several key men from his backroom staff, including Pep Lijnders. On top of that, Jorg Schmadtke has now officially left his role as well. Which means Liverpool will need a new sporting director as well.

After all the uncertainty with Schmadtke, Julian Ward and Michael Edwards in the last few years – it’s obvious Liverpool need a stable long-term figure in that role as well. Which is why the club’s next target could be perfect.

Tim Steidten to Liverpool latest

According to a new report by the Dail Mail, Tim Steidten is on Liverpool’s radar, and the 44-year-old German would find it very difficult to turn down an offer from the Reds.

Steidten is in charge at West Ham United at the moment. But it seems he would be open to a switch to Anfield.

He comes with a brilliant track-record. In his previous roles at Werder Bremen, Steidten signed the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and Serge Gnabry. Meanwhile, at Bayer Leverkusen, he built a team that is now fighting for the Bundesliga title. On top of that, he also played a key role in appointing Xabi Alonso.
