Liverpool’s game against Bournemouth last weekend, didn’t just go according to plan. It probably went better than Jurgen Klopp could have ever envisaged. Such a fantastic result away from home against an in-form side is rare.

Perhaps the only negative aspect of the game as a little injury scare in the second-half, with Curtis Jones being brought off as a precaution. Many feared that the 22-year-old, who has been in great form recently, would once again be side-lined.

However, Pep Lijnders had more good news to share ahead of his press conference for the game against Fulham. And it’s looking very positive for Jones and the rest of the Liverpool team.

Lijnders injury update on Curtis Jones

Speaking to the club’s official website, Lijnders revealed that Jones didn’t not suffer a serious injury against Bournemouth. And that he will be available to face Fulham tomorrow night.

“When you play more games and when you are constantly in the team since a long, long time, you get also some small niggles. He already reported during the week some tension in his hamstring tendon. But yesterday [there were] no issues, so he was clear. And during the game it was more precautionary [because] we go 3-0 up and the guy, even if he’s young, he acts like a senior, so he made the right decision,” Lijnders said.

That’s really good news for Liverpool. Jones has had his share of injury problems in the past, but it’s great to see that this one was jus a scare and nothing else. Liverpool have been so much better with him in midfield recently, and he’s becoming a key player now for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

But he’s still young and the more he plays, the better he will get. It’s exciting times ahead for Jones at the moment.
