Speaking in his post-match press conference after Liverpool’s victory over Bournemouth, Jurgen Klopp gave the latest update on Mohamed Salah’s injury. The Egyptian suffered an injury in his country’s second game at the African Cup of Nations and it is moot when he can return to action.
However, Klopp has now revealed that the Liverpool forward is on his way back to Liverpool. Salah will continue his rehabilitation process at Liverpool, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano. And the objective for everyone involved will be to get him back on the pitch as safely and as quickly as possible.
Whether his African Cup of Nations dream is over, is still however up in the air. Klopp did not rule out that Salah could return to the Ivory Coast if Egypt was still in the competition and if he was fit enough to play.

Jurgen Klopp reveals Mohamed Salah plan
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Klopp revealed that Liverpool still expect Salah could return to the competition.
“If he is fit before the final, then probably he will go back to the AFCON,” Klopp said as per Daily Mail journalist Lewis Steele.
This is an interesting development. Liverpool will understand how important the African Cup of Nations is for Salah. However, they will also be eager to be cautious and make sure that he doesn’t return too early and aggravate his injury. Which means this may be the best possible scenario for Liverpool in the current situation.
