Liverpool could reportedly have a chance of signing Donyell Malen after Jadon Sancho’s return to Borussia Dortmund this week.
The Dutch international was initially signed by the German giants in 2021 for £26m as Sancho’s replacement, with the winger heading to Manchester United.
However, with the forward now back with Dortmund having signed on loan for the season, Malen’s future with the Bundesliga side is now up in the air, with Liverpool linked with a move for the 24-year-old.

And now, according to journalist Christian Falk, there is a chance that Malen could end up at the likes of Liverpool, with Dortmund open to Premier League offers for the attacker.
The German transfer guru said on Malen’s future: “Sancho’s arrival would put a lot of pressure on Donyell Malen. He could be sold immediately.
“There was an idea of a swap deal with Manchester United for Sancho – they didn’t go for it. But if there is an offer coming from the Premier League for Malen, Dortmund will be open to talks.”
Liverpool could consider Donyell Malen in the summer

Praised by Mario Gotze as a ‘very dangerous’ attacker, it makes sense why Dortmund would now be open to selling Malen to a Premier League club this January.
The Bundesliga club want to earn some money on their initial investment in Malen, and the likes of Liverpool could match what Dortmund are likely to demand for the former PSV Eindhoven star.
However, for the Anfield side, waiting until the summer might be the best play in regards to potentially signing Malen, especially based on the attacker’s form this season.
Should Mohamed Salah leave for Saudi Arabia, Malen could be an option for Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp a coach who get the best out of the Dutch international if an agreement can be reached with Dortmund.
