Joshua Kimmich has spoken out on his future with Bayern Munich amid reports that Liverpool are interested in signing the midfielder.

The 28-year-old Germany international has been rumoured with a move away from the Bundesliga giants this January, with the likes of Liverpool linked with a move for Kimmich.

With the midfielder’s contract with Bayern due to expire at the end of next season, there’s a growing concern in Bavaria that Kimmich could be on the move despite his importance to Thomas Tuchel’s side.

However, speaking to Sky Germany via Fabrizio Romano, Kimmich has more or less shot down rumours that he will be leaving Bayern this January.

Indeed, the winter window has been as quiet as it has been in some years, and it appears that a superstar like Kimmich won’t be on the move this month despite interest from Liverpool.

Kimmich said on his future: “I’m only focused Bayern. For me, it’s not a winter topic at all. At some point the club will approach me, and we’ll discuss it between us and not with the media.”

Whilst Kimmich isn’t planning on leaving Bayern this January, there’s every chance that the midfielder could be on the move at the end of this season if a new contract can’t be agreed upon.

And for Liverpool, this will give the Reds the perfect chance to strike for Kimmich, with the Germany international an ideal signing for Jurgen Klopp this summer.

The midfielder is one of the best in his position in the world and Kimmich would offer a genuine world-class presence to Liverpool’s squad heading into the new season.

Moreover, Liverpool returning to the UEFA Champions League could be a huge appeal for Kimmich, who wouldn’t want to leave Bayern for any random club this year.
