On-loan Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton is the toast of Hull City after a storming performance yesterday.

Morton has been excellent at Hull so far this season. Having become a mainstay in the starting XI, the 21-year-old even laid out his plans to become a player in the mould of Jude Bellingham recently.

Though he may never reach quite those heights, Morton is doing a superb job of winning over fans at the KC Stadium.

Having helped the Tigers to a 3-2 win over former side Blackburn Rovers on Friday, Hull’s official X account posted an ‘appreciation’ of Tyler this evening.

Tyler Morton appreciation post,” said the account, alongside a picture of the Liverpool man smiling and applauding. Quite the season the young man is having. Good signs for his potential future at Anfield.

If the post itself wasn’t enough to demonstrate just how much of a hit Morton has been on Humberside, then just check out the comments.

“Just give Liverpool a blank check (sic),” writes on supporter, with another commenting “Hugely talented, could play prem [Premier League] football now and not look out of place.”

A variety of other messages of support urging Hull to sign Morton permanently show that he’s doing his job and then some.

Unfortunately for Tigers fans, we can’t see Liverpool letting their academy graduate go anytime soon.

Jurgen Klopp is a self-confessed fan of Morton and given that the Reds could still do with adding a midfielder at some point, he’s certainly in with a shout next season.

Of course, there’s still a long way to go during the present campaign. We saw similar progress being made by Tyler at Blackburn last season before it went a little sour later on.

Hopefully he’s learnt from the way things went slightly south for him at Ewood Park and can prevent the same happening this time.

Either way, this kind of thing is the reason why Morton was our loan Player of the Season so far this Christmas. He’s got a whole lot of potential. Carry this on and there’s still hope that he can fulfil it back home at Anfield.
