Gary Neville says £34m Liverpool was just ‘absolutely sensational’ vs Arsenal yesterday

Gary Neville has lauded Mohamed Salah after the Liverpool winger’s goal against Arsenal yesterday in their 1-1 draw at Anfield.

The forward added to his tally having bagged midweek against West Ham with a fine finish past David Raya, with Salah leaving Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko in the dust in the process.

Whilst the Reds were unable to get three points on the day, Salah’s strike was a stark reminder that the attacker remains one of the best in the world in terms of clinical finishing.

And speaking on Sky Sports coverage of the match, Neville was full of praise for the Liverpool man, with the pundit saying about the goal: “Absolutely sensational from Mo Salah.

|I did mention about 10, 15 minutes ago that Zinchenko against Salah was a mismatch. I mean, it’s poor defending from Zinchenko not to deal with that low pass to start with, but then that is really weak.

“To allow him to come back, a world-class player like Salah onto his left foot so easily, you are asking for trouble. And my God, did he give him trouble! What a finish! The power is incredible.”

Even before signing for Liverpool in 2017 for £34m, Salah has always been a problem player for Arsenal, with the winger scoring in Chelsea’s famous 6-0 win against the Gunners.

With Arsenal now conceding ten goals in total by Salah, it’s a streak that the north London side will want to an end sooner rather than later.

And having scored last night, Salah again showed why he is the main man in the big games for Liverpool, with Arsenal struggling to contain the Egyptian international for large parts of the fixture.
