Fluminense staff members reportedly tried to assure Andre Trindade in the summer that moving to Liverpool was the right idea.

The 22-year-old midfielder has been one of the revelations of 2023, with Andre leading Fluminense to their first-ever Copa Libertadores title whilst also being selected for Brazil for the first time.

And this summer saw Liverpool heavily linked with a move for Andre, a transfer that Fluminense put a top to due to their participation in the Copa Libertadores, a decision that paid off big time.

Now, according to ESPN, it is detailed that Fluminense staff members spoke to Andre this summer on whether moving to Liverpool was right for his career during that time of his career.

As per the report, Liverpool’s interest in Andre has since cooled significantly, and there’s a strong chance that the midfielder will now sign for another Premier League side or a top European club.

Indeed, Andre joining Liverpool earlier this year would have been a risky move for the youngster, and the midfielder arguably made the right decision to stay in Brazil this summer.

Andre might have felt a twinge of regret in the summer when the decision was made that the midfielder won’t be heading to Liverpool.

However, given what has happened since, staying with Fluminense has proven to be a masterstroke of a decision, with Andre now the most in-demand player in all of South America.

With Liverpool’s interest now at an all-time low, the world is Andre’s oyster heading into the January transfer window, where a massive move is sure to come up.

Yet it all could have been so different had Andre made the decision to join Liverpool, with the 22-year-old right to stay in Brazil beyond this summer.
