FC Barcelona could reportedly now win the race to sign Fluminese midfielder Andre Trindade despite the Brazilian being strongly linked with a move to Liverpool.

The Reds were heavily reported with a swoop for the 22-year-old star in the summer, with links continuing heading into next month’s January transfer window.

Valued at £34m, Andre has enjoyed a sensational year with Fluminense, who are currently at this year’s FIFA Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia alongside Manchester City.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool could miss out on Andre as Barcelona have begun to intensify their interest in signing the Brazilian international.

As per the report, sporting director Deco has good connections with Fluminese, which could make a deal for Andre easy to pull off for Barcelona next month.

And for Liverpool, their quest to sign Andre could come to and end if Barcelona end up using all their resources to sign the 22-year-old sensation in the January window.

With Liverpool’s interest in Andre as weak as it has ever been with Barcelona now ramping up their position on signing the midfielder, this transfer saga could have only one real ending.

Although Fulham are also in contention to sign Andre, the 22-year-old will certainly be set on a move to Catalonia if Barcelona were to make an acceptable offer for the Fluminense star.

As for Liverpool, the time is now to move on from Andre, who for some weeks has seemingly looked eager to move anywhere by Anfield in the January transfer window.
