Pep Lijnders has now teased what could happen to Fabio Carvalho in the January transfer window amid the winger’s reported return to Liverpool.
The Portuguese youth international joined RB Leipzig in the summer on a season-long loan deal, with the transfer, at the time, looking like a good one for Carvalho.
However, the 21-year-old has hardly featured for the Bundesliga club this campaign, and reports now suggest that Carvalho will be returning to Liverpool in January.

And speaking to the press, assistant Liverpool coach Lijnders has detailed what the club’s plan now is for Carvalho, with another loan spell the most likely option for the youngster.
Lijnders said when asked about what Liverpool plan to do with Carvalho once he returns to Anfield next month: “We have to make a good decision on him.
“He needs rhythm. He needs to find minutes. It’s not up to me. It’s up to our directors to find the best solution for him. Wait and see, no decision yet.”
Liverpool have to hit it out of the park with Fabio Carvalho’s next loan

Carvalho’s time in Germany has, predictably, gone down as successful as a lead balloon, with the Liverpool youngster barely getting a chance at Leipzig.
And as a result, the Reds have to get the winger’s next loan spell as perfect as possible, with Carvalho’s Anfield future now on the line going into 2024.
Indeed, the former Fulham wonderkid is an outstanding prospect and a player who could play a huge role in Liverpool’s future.
And that can all start with the right loan move in January, with Carvalho in need of a switch where the forward will be a regular for a good side at a competitive level.
