Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Szoboszlai, Endo, Gravenberch; Salah, Nunez, Diaz

With Alexis Mac Allister out injured, Wataru Endo has once again been named as Liverpool’s starting defensive midfielder despite not impressing in recent matches.

Whilst Klopp has recently hailed Endo as an ‘exceptional’ player, the Japanese international starting in the midfield might come as a surprise for some supporters, especially in a game as big as this one against United.

Indeed, whilst Endo’s selection is a surprise, the 30-year-old having Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch alongside him could make the Liverpool midfielder’s job that much easier this afternoon.

With Liverpool making wholesale changes during the week in Europe, it’s no surprise to see Mohamed Salah return to the Reds’ starting XI, alongside regular attackers Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.

The Egyptian winger made history last week having scored his 200th goal in all competitions for Liverpool, and today could see Salah extend his record with the Anfield side against United.

Indeed, the odds are heavily in Liverpool’s favour this afternoon, and Klopp will want to see his squad put on a real show in what is one of the biggest annual fixtures in the Premier League at Anfield.
