Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing FC Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo, who is unsure of his future in Catalonia.
The Uruguay international has emerged as one of Xavi Hernandez’s most important players in recent years, with Araujo taking on the role of captain many times this season.
Once praised by Xavi as ‘one of the best defenders in the world’, Araujo conceded four yesterday in Barcelona’s shock 4-2 loss to Catalan rivals Girona.

And according to 90min, Liverpool are now keeping tabs on the centre-back, alongside the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United.
Indeed, the 24-year-old would be an outstanding addition for any top side in the Premier League, especially Liverpool, who are on the hunt for a new defender.
And with Araujo now weighing up his options, there’s every chance that the Reds can now swoop in for the Uruguay international in 2024 if the defender decides to move on from Barcelona.
Ronald Araujo could be a dream signing for Liverpool

Central defence is a position Liverpool simply have to add to in 2024 whether it be in January or in the summer transfer window, and Araujo is almost too perfect a target.
A regular for Barcelona in recent years and an international teammate of Darwin Nunez, Araujo could be a brilliant fit for Liverpool if the Reds were to move for the centre-back.
Given Barcelona’s financial situation, the La Liga side could be tempted into a sale if Liverpool come in with a convincing offer for the Uruguay international.
And for Araujo, the prospect of playing for Liverpool could be intriguing, with the Premier League becoming more and more appealing for international superstars with each season.
