James Milner has now shared that he once made Jurgen Klopp furious at half-time during their time together at Liverpool.
The former midfielder was a trusted player for the Anfield boss, with Milner becoming a fan favourite on Merseyside during his impressive career with Liverpool.
Yet that doesn’t mean that Milner and Klopp saw eye-to-eye all the time, with the now Brighton & Hove Albion star admitting that he and the Liverpool boss once came to blows during one half-time team talk.

Speaking on the High Performance Podcast, the former England international revealed that he once caused Klopp to smash a table after arguing with his manager.
Milner said when asked about his former manager and how he treated Klopp both on and off the pitch: “He was pretty good, he was open.
“Not so at halftime, we had one moment where he was sharing his thoughts and I was sharing mine and I remember him smashing his hands on down the table and shouting ‘will you shut the —- up!’ But Jurgen was brilliant, we had a great relationship and we were great off the pitch.”
Jurgen Klopp’s anger would have motivated James Milner at Liverpool

Klopp’s anger is legendary in the footballing world, yet for his players, it would have been used as a source of motivation.
And Milner’s career at Anfield is a testament to this claim, with the veteran midfielder becoming one of Klopp’s key leaders despite the former Manchester City star giving the Liverpool boss some lip.
Indeed, Milner’s Liverpool career was quite incredible, and the midfielder not would have been as successful as he had been with Klopp’s methods.
