James Milner has now detailed his two favourite moments during his entire time at Liverpool.

The former England international was one of the best free signings the Reds ever made as the now-Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder established himself as one of Liverpool’s most important players.

Winning the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League, Milner’s success speaks for itself. And speaking on the High Performance Podcast, the midfielder detailed his favourite moments with Liverpool.

Unsurprisingly, the midfielder named the 4-0 win against FC Barcelona in 2019 as one of his picks, though Milner also mentioned Liverpool’s other famous European comeback under Jurgen Klopp against Borussia Dortmund.

Milner said: “The Barcelona game is an obvious one and Dortmund at Anfield, those European nights on the field, they’re the moments.

“Off the field, the people at the club, I had great relationships with the players and the staff, and the parades when you’ve achieved what you want with the trophies, we were lucky to have a couple.”

James Milner should go down as a Liverpool icon

332 appearances for Liverpool and numerous pieces of silverware, it’s incredible that Milner has not gone yet in the pantheon of Liverpool’s modern-day icons.

Few would have expected the former Manchester City star to succeed as much as he did at Liverpool, with Klopp transforming Milner into the ultimate utility player for the Reds.

Couple the veteran’s fitness with his incredible penalty-taking record, and you have a player who should easily go down for Liverpool as an icon for the club.

Indeed, Milner spent eight brilliant seasons at Liverpool, and the midfielder should be regarded as a legend for the Reds having left the club this summer.
