Phil Thompson has predicted big things for Ryan Gravenberch at Liverpool after the midfielder’s summer move to the Reds.
The 21-year-old made the switch to Anfield on deadline day as Gravenberch joined from Bayern Munich, with the Dutch international impressing at Liverpool.
A product of Ajax’s famed youth academy, Gravenberch is still very much at the start of his footballing career despite establishing himself as a starter for the Dutch giants at a young age.

And according to Thompson via TalkSport, Gravenberch has all the tools needed to become a superstar for Liverpool, with the midfielder starting to find his fee for the Reds in recent weeks.
Thompson said: “This boy is going to be a talent. He glides past people in midfield which he is then taking it to a back four. I think one of the great things about this new midfield is that there is a difference in all of them.
“Gravenberch is a great mover, Szoboszlai has this powerful shot which we haven’t had since Oxlade-Chamberlain in his first year at Liverpool, and Mac Allister even though he’s a 10 or an eight, he’s come in and is finding it really happy in holding midfield.”
Ryan Gravenberch can become amazing for Liverpool

Even after essentially missing a year of development at Bayern, Gravenberch still has a lot of qualities that makes the midfielder one of Europe’s most outstanding prospects.
And at Liverpool, the Dutch youngster can become an incredible player if Jurgen Klopp can get the best out of Gravenberch in the right system for the Reds.
Indeed, the versatile midfielder has all the tools needed to become Liverpool’s next superstar in the position, alongside the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
And with club legends like Thompson now tipping Gravenberch for success, the 21-year-old must now do all he can to achieve his frightening potential.
