David Seaman has now predicted how long Alisson Becker could be out with injury ahead of Liverpool kicking off their festive fixtures.
The Brazilian international picked up a hamstring problem last week in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw against Manchester City, with Caoimhin Kelleher starting for Liverpool on Sunday against Fulham.
With the Republic of Ireland international letting in three goals and looking uncomfortable on the Premier League stage, Alisson’s return could be huge if Liverpool are to compete for the title.
And speaking on the Seaman Says podcast, the former Arsenal and England number one predicted that Alisson could return later this month given the nature of his injury.
Indeed, Alisson injured his hamstring, and whilst painful and common, it isn’t something that should keep the South American shot-stopper out on the treatment table for long.
Seaman said when asked if the Liverpool star will be back soon: “Alisson, that’ll probably be three weeks if it’s just a hamstring, depending on how severe it is.”

Liverpool are fully in the title race for the Premier League this season, and they will need Alisson back before the end of the year if they’re to mount a serious challenge.
With so many games between now and the start of 2024, the sooner Liverpool have their star keeper back the better their chances are of competing with Arsenal and Manchester City for top honours.
Kelleher’s performance on Sunday did little to help the 25-year-old’s case as a realistic successor or replacement for Alisson, and now, Liverpool need to hope the Brazilian is back and fully fit soon.
