Tottenham have reportedly been put off signing AFC Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly, with Liverpool also chasing the centre-back.
The 25-year-old Premier League talent is likely to leave the English south coast in the January transfer window, with Kelly’s contract due to expire at the end of this season.
With the former Bristol City star one of the better defenders in England outside the top-six, interest has been high in Kelly, with Liverpool one of the sides reportedly tracking the Bournemouth centre-back.

And now, according to the Telegraph, Tottenham have been put off signing Kelly heading into 2024 due to the defender’s recent injury problems.
Having missed four Premier League games already this season, it’s easy to see why the north London side have reservations about signing Kelly, though Liverpool will certainly not mind.
Lauded by former Bristol City manager Lee Johnson as ‘unbelievable’, Tottenham dropping out of the race to sign Kelly will be viewed as a massive positive for Liverpool, who could soon launch their own move.
Tottenham dropping Lloyd Kelly interest would be huge for Liverpool

Kelly has impressed for Bournemouth ever since signing for the Cherries, and with the defender’s contract expiring this season, a move to one of England’s elite would be a sensible move.
And for Liverpool, the Reds could be ideal for Kelly, with Jurgen Klopp’s side interested in signing a centre-back to add much-needed quality in the defensive ranks.
Indeed, the 25-year-old ticks a lot of boxes for what Liverpool should be looking for in a potential signing, and with Tottenham losing interest in Kelly, the Anfield side have to strike.
A potential bargain could be in the works if Liverpool move quick enough, and Kelly would be a real coup for the Reds given his Premier League experience and age.
