Caoimhin Kelleher is reportedly wanted by numerous clubs heading into the January window, with the Liverpool goalkeeper set for a run in the starting XI.
The Republic of Ireland international is considered by many as the best backup goalkeeper in the Premier League, with Kelleher yet to let Liverpool down whenever given the chance to start between the sticks.
Lauded by Nat Phillips as a ‘magnificent’ player, Kelleher has featured quite a bit for the Reds this season in domestic cup competitions and the UEFA Europa League.
And with Alisson now reportedly out for the year with a hamstring injury, Kelleher could be due a run of Premier League games at Liverpool. Though there is now transfer interest in the Irishman.
Now, according to Dean Jones, many clubs want to sign the 24-year-old, with the journalist saying: “If he doesn’t get a chance properly at Liverpool this season, you do wonder if he might look for a transfer.
“There are certainly loads of clubs that have been sniffing around that situation over the course of this year.”

Many questioned Liverpool’s decision to keep hold of Kelleher this summer when it’s painfully obvious that the shot-stopper is good enough to star for a top Premier League or European club.
With Alisson in another realm compared to Kelleher, the Irishman leaving Anfield could see the shot-stopper form a real legacy for himself away from Liverpool.
Yet with his Brazilian counterpart now injured, Kelleher must be eyeing the summer as the window when he should bid farewell to Liverpool for good.
This upcoming run of games could do wonders for Kelleher’s development and transfer value, and leaving in January would be an unusual move for the Irish superstar.
