Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy last night both likened England’s 1-1 draw with North Macedonia to Liverpool’s recent Premier League result against Luton Town.
Despite a good performance from Trent Alexander-Arnold in the words of Gareth Southgate, the Three Lions ended their Euro qualifying group with a drab 1-1 result away in Skopje.
And last night on TalkSport, pundits O’Hara and Cundy were disappointed with what they saw from England, with Liverpool’s draw against Luton being brought up.

O’Hara said: “I want to be excited when I’m watching England. You look at the players, the talent we have got. We should turn up against North Macedonia and put on an absolute masterclass. We might not win 8-0, but I’m talking about a masterclass in showcasing.”
With Cundy replying ‘why?’, O’Hara hit back with: “What do you mean why? Look at the players we have got, you’re playing against part-timers!”
To which Liverpool were brought up, with Cundy saying: “Did you see Liverpool vs Luton the other day? Did you watch it? That’s one of the best managers in the world! It happens.”
“You’re talking rubbish,” is all O’Hara could reply with, with Cundy wrapping up by saying: “You saw that game! Liverpool were a three-legged dog with fleas, they were shocking. Klopp said the worst game he’s ever had as Liverpool manager, right! It can happen!”
England’s North Macedonia draw being compared to Liverpool is fair

Sometimes, quality squads are hit for six and can’t get past an opponent who they should be breezing past, such is the beauty of football.
And that’s exactly what happened to England last night against North Macedonia, who having qualified for the last Euros, are clearly better than a certain TalkSport pundit gives them credit for.
Indeed, Liverpool experienced this first hand this season in the draw away to Luton, with the big-guns sometimes just failing to turn up on the day and coming out of a fixture without the result they wanted.
