Reports have already emerged that the Old Lady view the French international as a replacement for Paul Pogba, with Thuram enjoying a fantastic season with Nice as they currently sit second place in Ligue 1.

With Liverpool reportedly expected to spend on a midfielder in January, Thuram could be an exceptional signing for Jurgen Klopp’s side, though competition from Inter and Juventus can cause some problems.

Indeed, the Italian giants will also be willing to spend to bring the youngster to Serie A in the new year, and for Liverpool, they could miss out on Thuram if they play this deal too recklessly.

Thuram looks very likely to be on the move in 2024 whether it be in the January window or in the summer when Nice’s season is done and dusted.

Yet if the former was to happen, Liverpool need to ensure that they are the side who land Thuram, with the midfielder perfect for what Klopp is looking for.

The French international has a lot of traits that the Reds are currently lacking in their midfield, namely height and physicality, both of which Thuram has in spades.

Which is why the Reds can’t let Juventus or any other club beat them to Thuram in January, with the youngster too good a prospect to miss out on.
