Kalvin Phillips reportedly wants to move to another Premier League club in January amid ongoing transfer interest from Liverpool

According to CalcioMercato, the England international is keen to remain in his home country despite Juventus showing a strong intent of signing Phillips in the new year.

The Manchester City midfielder is widely expected to leave the reigning English champions in January, with Juventus viewed as the favourites for the 27-year-old.

However, a Premier League stay now seems more likely for Phillips, an update which will come as a major boost for Liverpool heading into the winter window.

Lauded by Kieran Trippier as a ‘phenomenal’ player, Phillips ticks all the boxes for what Liverpool are looking for in a midfield signing in the January market.

And with the City outcast now keen to remain in England, Liverpool can make a big push in the coming weeks to bring Phillips to Anfield, a move that will excite the former Leeds United star.

Phillips wanting to stay in the Premier League makes quite a lot of sense ahead of next summer’s Euros, with the midfielder keen to make England’s final squad.

And for Liverpool, they must now be looking to do all they can to sign Phillips in January, who could be a dream signing for the Reds in the winter window.

Despite hardly playing for City in the last 12 months, Phillips has enough credit in the bank during his Leeds days to offer Liverpool exactly what they want in a new signing.

And with the midfielder keen to stay in the Premier League, Phillips is confident in his own abilities to make an impact at a top side, which could be highly appealing for Liverpool.
