Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has raved about the form of reported Liverpool target Leroy Sane.

Sane has put in a string of phenomenal performances for Bayern this season, scoring eight times and providing six assists in 11 Bundesliga games.

Despite this terrific form, there have been rumours that the 27-year-old may leave the German giants next summer. With Liverpool potentially on the lookout for a Mohamed Salah replacement, Sane has been heavily linked.

And now speaking to Der Rekordmeister via Get German Football News, Kane – who has been in similarly amazing form – has told the Reds exactly why Sane could be the perfect signing.

“He has great pace and outstanding power,” gushed the England captain. “Leroy is probably our best player so far this season. He is fantastic.

“Even today, when it was 2-2 [against Heidenheim], I had the feeling that he was the player who would lift us up again. He is such an important player for us with his skills. Today he made two assists for me again, which is great. I hope we keep this connection.”

Kane highlights Sane quality

The better Sane plays this season, the more he underlines his suitability as a genuine option for Liverpool.

And yet, the more he convinces the Reds, you’d imagine that Bayern would be growing equally determined to make sure he doesn’t leave.

At 27, the former Manchester City man is now coming into his prime. And it’s really showing.

Having already proven himself to be one of the most pacy and dangerous forwards in Europe, Sane is now adding end product – and lots of it – to his game.

With 14 goal involvements in the league this season, he’s level with Salah’s tally for Liverpool.

The Egyptian is still clearly the better goal scorer, but the signs are there that Sane has now added that to his game. Playing in Mo’s position, maybe he’d get even more.

Nevertheless, we just can’t see how Bayern would let this happen. It’s true that they didn’t want to lose Thiago Alcantara to Liverpool back in 2020, but ultimately had to accept that the Spaniard was keen to leave. If Sane pushes for the same, maybe they’d have no choice.

But reports have already claimed that Leroy is in no such similar mood. And in this kind of form, Bayern would be crazy not to fight tooth and nail to keep him. It’ll be difficult for Liverpool, but what a signing he’d be.
