It was an easy day at the office for Van Dijk, who out of the two central defenders looked the more composed in Liverpool’s starting XI.

And Shearer now thinks that the Liverpool skipper is back to his best, with Van Dijk looking shaky at times in recent seasons since his ACL injury.

Shearer said: “He did have a good game. He looked back to his best, he read the game very well. And they are always going to score goals Liverpool, with the talent they have up top.”
