Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has publically stated his intention to keep Jamal Musiala at the club, amid rumours that Liverpool are interested.
Speaking to Abendzeitung Munchen, the Bundesliga official revealed that work could soon begin to renew Musiala’s contract, which is due to expire in the summer of 2026.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for Musiala in recent weeks as the 20-year-old Germany international has emerged as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.

However, Bayern are resigned to losing Musiala, with the club CEO now stating that he wants to keep hold of the attacking midfielder amid interest from Liverpool.
Dressen said: “It’s still a long contract, until 2026. Of course, we will reach for the ceiling! Jamal is already a very important part of the team today and one of the greatest talents that German football has.
“Who would we be if we had this player and didn’t want him to commit to us permanently? But there is no reason to rush. We will discuss this with him calmly, and I believe it will end well.”
Liverpool could struggle to sign Musiala now

Musiala is easily one of the most exciting prospects in all of football, with the former England youth international a bonafide superstar with Bayern and the German national team.
And for Liverpool, signing the youngster could be quite the challenge with the reigning Bundesliga champions intent on keeping hold of Musiala.
Indeed, a big-money offer could be what turns the tide in Liverpool’s favour, yet the German giants could still reject such a bid if Musiala himself wants to stay in Bavaria.
