Liverpool youth coach Barry Lewtas has lauded Mateusz Musialowski’s development, with the youngster starring for the Reds’ U-21s last night.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the U-21s head coach was full of praise for the Polish youth international, who scored a thunderbolt against AFC Barrow in a 2-1 EFL Trophy loss.
Musialowski has been one of Liverpool’s highest-rated youngsters since joining the club in 2020, with a senior debut surely around the corner for the 20-year-old.

And Lewtas was impressed with how Musialowski has developed in the last year, with the Liverpool coach lauding the winger’s new level of consistency.
Lewtas said: “I’ve said before that his commitment, not just to his own game but the team, has been a massive change. Not that he was doing anything particularly wrong, but he’s added more consistency.
“He’s played more games, he’s that little bit older. The goal was an unbelievable goal, but overall his all-round contribution in games is bigger now, rather than just moments. I thought he was good today.”
Musialowski deserves a chance in Liverpool’s senior squad

Musialowski is clearly a player who is going places, and with Liverpool all-but through to the next round of the UEFA Europa League, the forward could now be ready for a chance in the first-team.
Jurgen Klopp has already shown this season in Europe that he isn’t afraid to give youngsters the chance if they’re ready for the opportunity, such as Luke Chambers and Ben Doak.
And Musialowski could be the next player to make that leap from the academy to the seniors via the Europa League, with the Polish wonderkid ready for that next step in his career.
