Athletic Club defender Oscar de Marcos has urged Nico Williams to remain at the club amid reports that Liverpool are interested in the forward.
Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, the right-back pleaded with the attacker to remain in Bilbao despite reports in recent weeks that the likes of Liverpool are interested in signing Williams.
The £43m-rated youngster is one of the most exciting attacking prospects in all of Europe, with Liverpool hopeful of signing Williams in 2024.

Yet despite the time likely being right for the 21-year-old to make the move away from Atheltic, De Marcos still wants Williams to remain with the La Liga side given his quality and potential.
De Marcos said when asked about Williams potentially leaving amid interest from Liverpool: “For us, he is an important player because he has that ability to imbalance (defenders).
“It would help us if he stayed here. I trust that it will be like that, and I hope so. I would love it, for the good of Athletic.”
Nico Williams could be tempted by Liverpool move

Williams is clearly keen to move on from Athletic despite pleas from teammates, and Liverpool would be an ideal move for the striker in 2024.
Liverpool will be in the market for a new attacker if Mohamed Salah completes his expected move to Saudi Arabia in the summer.
And Williams could be a potential replacement, though work on the training ground with Jurgen Klopp will be required if the Spanish international is to succeed Salah at Anfield next year.
