Napoli are reportedly interested in signing Andre Trindade, who has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks.

According to journalist Giovanni Scotto, the reigning Serie A champions will pursue the Brazilian midfielder in the January transfer window, with the youngster expected to move to Europe.

Labelled by Fabrizio Romano as a ‘special’ player, Andre made history this weekend as the midfielder guided Fluminese to their first-ever Copa Libertadores title against Boca Juniors.

Since then, Andre’s stock has hit an all-time high, and Liverpool could now face competition from Napoli for the 22-year-old’s signature.

Scotto said: “Napoli will be active in the January transfer market, they’re following the Brazilian midfielder Andre, from Fluminense, who has just won the Copa Libertadores.

“He’s born in 2001, he costs around €15m, he’s a midfielder who can also be a tackler as well as a playmaker. It could be a good reinforcement.”

Liverpool can’t allow Napoli to sign Andre in January

Andre is clearly heading to Europe after a manic 2023 starring for Fluminense, and Liverpool can’t let Napoli beat them to the midfielder’s signature going into January.

The Brazilian is a brilliant fit for what Jurgen Klopp is looking for in a midfielder in the winter market, and Napoli could now realistically bat Liverpool to Andre.

Indeed, the Reds have the finances to beat any club in the world for the 22-year-old, and Liverpool need to put their money where their mouth is when it comes to the Brazilian talent.
